SONIC ROAR: Terms of Use

The following are the General Terms & Conditions of your SONIC ROAR account. By opening your account, you agree to these terms & conditions as well as the associated privacy policy in its entirety.

Definitions

  • We / SONIC ROAR: SONIC ROAR (or its legal entity).
  • Shops: Digital Service Providers like Spotify, YouTube, or Shazam.
  • Use of your account: Defined as the point from which you log into your account.
  • Partner: Includes technical service providers, aggregators, credit card companies, collection societies, etc.
  • SONIC ROAR App: The SONIC ROAR platform that hosts your account.
  • Services: The range of services available through your SONIC ROAR App.

Guarantees & Warranties

  • You guarantee that you are over 18 years of age.
  • You warrant that your email address is current and accurate.
  • You are solely responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
  • You guarantee that your SONIC ROAR account will not be used for fraudulent purposes or in ways contrary to the intended use of SONIC ROAR’s services.

Payments and Fees

  • SONIC ROAR reserves the right to charge additional fees for certain payment methods, with such fees clearly indicated beforehand.
  • Late payment fees may be applied to unpaid invoices.

Accounting & Payouts

  • You can initiate payouts yourself through your SONIC ROAR account.
  • Once a payout is requested, payment will be made within 30 days.
  • Only revenue that has been received by SONIC ROAR from shops and royalties will be paid out.
  • SONIC ROAR reserves the right to deduct costs such as customer returns.
  • All transfer fees are your responsibility.
  • Bank payments can only be made to IBAN accounts within the SEPA zone (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, San Marino, Vatican City, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein). Users outside SEPA are encouraged to use services such as Wise.com.

Refunds

SONIC ROAR has a no cash refund policy. All refunds will be issued in the form of Promo-Credit.

Fair Use Policy

SONIC ROAR’s services are tailored for independent artists, not large-scale aggregators or distributors. If you’re unsure, contact SONIC ROAR for a custom arrangement.
We reserve the right to terminate service under this clause—see Termination for more details.

Closing Your SONIC ROAR Account

You may close your SONIC ROAR account at any time, provided all outstanding invoices are settled.
Closure of your account will result in the automatic termination of all associated services, including takedowns of any distributed content.
Certain services, such as Online Publishing, may include a minimum term. These terms will be disclosed at the time of purchase and the service will expire automatically at the end of the term.

All uploaded personal data will be deleted in compliance with the EU GDPR.

Audit Rights

You may audit SONIC ROAR’s accounting with 90 days’ written notice.
Audits are at your expense, limited to once per year, and must be conducted by an authorized Swiss auditor.

Fraudulent Activity Clause

We reserve the right to block your account if we suspect fraudulent activity or if a copyright complaint is filed against you.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Using AI to generate content
  • Bot-based stream inflation
  • Unauthorized content uploading
  • Misrepresentation of artist identities or brands

Your account will be frozen while SONIC ROAR investigates. If you are found guilty of infringement or fraud:

  • We may report you to authorities or the injured parties
  • You may forfeit current and future payouts
  • You may be required to repay already disbursed funds

This supersedes any rights outlined in our privacy policy.

Modification of the Terms of Use

SONIC ROAR may update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes may be communicated via email or other forms of notification.
Continued use of your account following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

If any part of the agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

Litigation

This agreement shall be interpreted under Slovenian Law and all disputes will be handled in the courts of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

SONIC ROAR: Terms of Service – Subscriptions

This agreement applies to your current subscription order and serves as an addition to the General Terms of Use of holding a SONIC ROAR account.

Duration

Your subscription duration depends on the option you selected:

  • 1 month is defined as a calendar month (e.g., January 5, 2025 to February 4, 2025).
  • 1 year is defined as a calendar year (e.g., January 5, 2025 to January 4, 2026).

Auto-Renewal

If auto-renewal is enabled, your subscription will automatically renew for the same period (1 month or 1 year). Your saved payment method will be charged accordingly.

To avoid unwanted charges, you must cancel your subscription in your SONIC ROAR account before the next renewal date.

Payment Methods

  • You agree to save a valid payment method (credit card or PayPal) for automatic renewals.
  • If your saved payment method becomes invalid, your subscription will end automatically at the end of its current term.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time within your SONIC ROAR account.

Once your paid subscription ends, you will lose access to your account and any connected communities or features exclusive to subscribers. To retain access, a valid subscription must be active.

  • Your current paid subscription will not renew after the current term ends.

Commission on Royalties

If your subscription affects the commission SONIC ROAR deducts from your royalties, the new rate will apply from the first full month after your subscription begins.

Fees

SONIC ROAR reserves the right to add payment fees for specific payment methods or regions in accordance with our General Terms of Use.

Refunds

We do not issue refunds for subscriptions once they have started.

 

SONIC ROAR Terms of Service – Digital Distribution

Summary
This is a NON-exclusive licensing agreement allowing SONIC ROAR to sell and monetize your recordings, and it complements the General Terms of Use of holding a SONIC ROAR account.
This agreement applies only to the songs you are distributing in this bundle. A new license will be created for every bundle you distribute.

Definitions
You: The rights holder or legal representative of the recordings (you do not have to be the original copyright creator).
We / SONIC ROAR: SONIC ROAR (or its legal entity).
Release: A “bundle” of recordings such as a single, EP, album, music video, audiobook, or similar.
Title: One song or track.
Shop: Digital Service Providers (DSPs) like Spotify, YouTube, Shazam, etc.
Partner: SONIC ROAR’s partners such as shops, aggregators, encoders, etc.
Terms of Use: The Terms & Conditions that regulate how you use your SONIC ROAR account, which you agreed to upon account registration.

Guarantees & Warranties
You guarantee that you have the legal right to administer the copyrights in the recordings included in this bundle.

Term
This is an open-ended agreement, which means you may decide when to end it and/or request takedowns of your releases.

Exclusivity & Transferability
This license is transferable and NON-exclusive for the copyright in the recordings included in this bundle.
You may have direct deals with individual shops for this bundle, but this agreement is exclusive regarding the use of other distributors for this release.
Duplicate releases may be taken down by shops, and SONIC ROAR reserves the right to remove such releases without issuing a refund.

Earnings & Commissions
Revenues will only be credited to your account after they’ve been received and will be net of any applicable costs, commissions, or deductions.
Monetization via social platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) is not considered regular distribution and may be subject to commissions up to 20%.

Terminations (Takedowns)
Terminating this license is equivalent to issuing a takedown of this release. This is separate from terminating your SONIC ROAR account.

  • Either party may terminate this license at any time.
  • Termination requests may be made in writing (email is sufficient).
  • Closing your SONIC ROAR account is subject to the Terms of Use.
    Note: An early takedown fee may apply if a release is removed within the first 12 months.

Catalogue Changes
You may update your releases at any time. If already published in shops, a fee may apply.

Shops & Countries
You determine shop and territory settings. Shop or territorial policies are outside our control.

Quality Control & Questionable Content
SONIC ROAR reserves the right to modify release data in accordance with industry guidelines.
We may reject releases based on:

  • Audio quality
  • Questionable content

We also reserve the right to reject content created using AI, with no refunds provided.

Copyright Infringement & Fraud
SONIC ROAR has strict policies on copyright violations and fraud.
Consequences may include:

  • Disclosure to authorities
  • Account closure
  • Income suspension or forfeiture
  • Penalty fees (up to EUR 100 per track)

Promotional Rights
You grant SONIC ROAR a free license to use your name, likeness, voice, biography, brand, and logo for promotional purposes.
